How To Set Up Mail on iPhone

In this article, I will be showing how you can set up mail on an iPhone. After setting up your brand new iPhone, you can always use iCloud for mail and other stuff, but Apple did not just limit you on using this. They have given you total control and you can be able to use other mail services like Gmail, Yahoo or even Microsoft Exchange.

In this article, I will show you how you can set up email accounts so that you don’t find it hard to connect with other people.

Set up Mail on Your iPhone

To set up mail on your Apple device;

1. Go to your iPhone settings menu.
2. Scroll and find the Mail option.
3. Select it and then choose Accounts, followed by Add Account.
4. After selecting the option above, you will be given two choices; to either use a service provided, for example, iCloud or Microsoft Exchange, or add a mail account.
5. If you want to use the ones provided like iCloud for example, tap a service and enter your account login details to access it.
6. If you want to add another email service like Gmail or Yahoo, tap on add account, then enter the details you will be requested to submit, usually your email address, and password.
7. Done, you have successfully set up mail and you can now continue sending and receiving emails via your iPhone.

Removing an email account on iPhone.

If in any case, you want to remove an email account from your iPhone device, you will simply go to your iPhone settings menu, select the Mail option, and then accounts. Here tap on sign out or delete account to remove the email account from your iPhone.

If in the future, you want to add the account again, or you want to add a new email account on your Apple smartphone device, you just need to follow the steps in the setting up mail section of this guide.

Note: removing the account from the device does not mean you have permanently deleted the email account. You can always log in to your email on another device. Removing the email account only means that you are logged out of the account so you won’t be able to access it from your iPhone.

After setting up your email account, you can always access it by going to your iPhone app menu and then scrolling down to find the Mail App. If you want to make it easier, you can always add it to the Home screen. Adding it to the home screen will be creating a shortcut so that you don’t need to go all the way to your app library to find the app.

How to Add Mail App TO Your Home Screen.

This can be used for any other application you have on your Apple device, not just your Mail app. To add an app to your iPhone Home screen;

1. Open your Applications library.
2. Scroll down until you locate the Mail application or any other app you wish to add.
3. You can also use the search field to search for the application.
4. Touch and hold the app until you see an Add To Home Screen option.
5. Select this option to add the Mail app to your Home Screen.
6. You can then rearrange the position of the application by taping and holding the application and moving it around the location you want.

Bonus Tip.

If you don’t wish to use the Mail App, you can always just download the email app of your choice from the Apple Playstore. For example, if you want to install the Gmail App, just go into your Apple Playstore and search for it then install it. Then open the application and click on login to log into your Gmail account.
