How To Cancel Subscriptions On Telkom – South Africa and Kenya 2023

In this article, I will show you how to cancel subscriptions on Telkom, whether you are using Telkom Kenya or Telkom South Africa. Subscription services such as horoscopes have risen in the previous years as they are trying to make money. These services are not free, and airtime is usually deducted from these subscription services. This can lead you to incur unplanned expenses.

Type Of Telkom Subscription Services

Most of the subscription services you will find for Telkom Kenya and Telkom Mobile in South Africa Subscription services are what is known as Web Application Services. The most common ones include news updates services, horoscopes, weather news and entertainment news.

We can also add data subscriptions and Telkom voice subscriptions to this list, especially those you set on Autorenewal without knowing. What happens is that these subscriptions will deduct a certain amount of money from your account to continue offering the services they provide.

So if you are always recharging airtime to your Telkom line only to find it has disappeared without you using it, then these Telkom subscriptions might be the root cause. Not to worry, in the next section, I will show you how you could cancel subscription services on Telkom through very simple steps.

Before you stop the subscription services, I would advice you to first of all check the premium services you have subscribed to, to see which services you want to keep, and which you don’t need. For example, if you would want to continue receiving weather updates, it would be better if you cancelled all the other subscription services but left this one.

Plus also knowing if you have active subscriptions in the first place would be ideal to know if those os the source of your disappearing Telkom airtime. To check for your Active Telkom Subscription services and unsubscribe from them;

  1. Open you phone dialer app.
  2. Dial *180# using your Telkom line.
  3. Reply with option 5, which is Telkom Plus.
  4. Go to Telkom Self-service, which is option 9
  5. Choose Active Services, which is option 1. The other option is pending services.
  6. A list of all your active Telkom subscriptions will be displayed, you can now then choose the one you want to unsubscribe to.
  7. Done, you will receive a message from Telkom mobile confirming that you have actively unsubscribed from the service.

How To Terminate Telkom Premium Services Via Telkom Website in South Africa.

You can also use the Telkom South Africa official website to cancel these services through the following simple steps;

  1. Visit Telkom Mobile’s official website for S. Africa at https://telkom.co.za.
  2. Login to your account to access the dashboard.
  3. Select My Subscription or Manage Services.
  4. Find the particular service you want to stop and click on it.
  5. Click on cancel the subscription to stop it.
  6. Done.

How To  Cancel Your Subscription Services On Your Telkom Kenya Line Using USSD

Unfortunately, there is no way of cancelling premium services on Telkom using ussd. But if you would like to cancel a data or voice service that you is set on autorenewal, all you have to do is dial *544#, select the bundle you chose, then select stop autorenewal.

  1. Visit Telkom Kenya’s official website at https://telkom.co.ke/.
  2. Login to your account to access the dashboard.

  4. Find the particular service you want to stop and click on it.
  5. Click on cancel the subscription to stop it.
  6. Done.
