  • Causes: Viral infections are the most common culprits behind sore throats. Bacterial infections like strep throat are less frequent.
  • Symptoms: Along with a sore throat, you may experience scratchiness, difficulty swallowing, swollen glands, or a cough.

  • Hydration is Key: Drinking plenty of fluids like water, warm broth, or herbal tea helps thin mucus and keeps your throat moist, reducing irritation.
  • Honey: A spoonful of honey can act as a cough suppressant and provide a soothing coat for your throat. Look for raw, manuka honey for potential added benefits. Important: Honey is not safe for children under 1 year old.
