Tecno Camon 18P Review – Specifications and Price in Kenya

The Tecno Camon 18P is part of the Tecno Series of smartphones released by Tecno. In this article, i will be giving you a full review of the Tecno Camon 18P and help you make a decision on whether it is worth buying or not. I will also look at some of the features that might make it more superior or inferior to its brother the Camon 18 Premier.

What You Find In The Box
When you get a brand new Tecno Camon 18P and unbox the packaging, you will find the following inside the box;
- The Tecno Camon 18P smartphone. The color of the smartphone will depend on which color you chose during purchase. The smartphone comes in three color options: Dusk Gray, Ceramic white and Iris purple.
- A warranty card plus the instruction manual.
- A sim ejector tool
- Earphones from Tecno

- A USB Type C data cable
External features
In terms of design, i agree that the Tecno Camon 18P is a good example of where Tecnology meets fashion. The Camon 18P has a glossy anti-fingerprint finish that makes the smartphone look sleek and stylish. I have always commended Tecno on their device designs. There is Tecno Camon logo at the back lower side of the smartphone case which makes it look even more stylish.
At the bottom you find the common 3.5mm headphone jack, speaker and mic. A similar mic can also be found on the top part of the Camon 18P.
On the right side of the Camon 18P you will find your volume up and down button, and the power button. On the opposite side, you will find the Camon 18P’s sim card tray, which you can access using your sim ejector pin. The compartment is the one supposed to house your two Nano sim cards for your respective service provide, plus an extra slot for your MicroSD card.

Let Look At The Back
On the back of the Tecno Camon 18P, you will see 3 cameras and an LED. Now i have to say, these cameras are the real deal, and if you love photography, you will see in the camera section that this phone is worth the price. The camera are 48MP, 13MP and 2MP respectively. I will tell you more about them in the Camera section.
As i mentioned above, the back cover is made anti-fingerprint proof. I like it because i hate rubbing fingerprints off my smartphone every time, I don’t know about you.
A quick look at the front
At the front you get the 16MP selfie camera to take your photos on selfie mode, and it comes with dual LEDs to help take great photos in low light areas. The display size of the screen is1080 * 2460 Pixels.

Display
As i mentioned in the above section, the Tecno Camon 18P comes with a 6.8 Inch display that has a resolution of 1080 by 2460 PX. The screen-to-body ratio of the smartphone is about 84.8%. The screen is made up of IPS LCD, capable of working at a refresh rate of 120Hz. You can tell from this description that scrolling on the Tecno Camon 18P is a breeze.
Best part is you can also enjoy your games, videos, and normal phone usage outdoors because of the 550Nits brightness capabilities of the smartphone.
Camera
For selfie photos, you get a 16MP camera that is pretty good delivering clear photos. The dual LED flash also help when taking photos in places of low light. If you want to take a video, the selfie camera of the Tecno Camon 18P can deliver at a video resolution of 1080@30fps.
The triple back camera is made up of a 48MP, f/1.8, 22mm(wide) main camera, a 13MP, 45mm telephoto camera capable of producing 1.7X zoom, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth camera. This combo is just great for photography and you should definitely try it out.
Storage and Memory

Multitasking isn’t an issue anymore with the Tecno Camon 18P. This is because of the 8GB RAM the smartphone comes with. You can literally switch from app to app with no hustle. Gaming you want, bring it on, the memory can handle games like Call of Duty surprisingly well on good graphics and refresh rates.

The 128GB storage is more than enough for your files. If you feel the need for more, no problem, just expand your internal storage using an SD card.
Processor
The smartphone is packed with a MediaTek MT6781 Helio G96 chipset, also having a Mali G57 MC2 GPU for better graphics and an Octa-core CPU. This plus the memory and the 120 refresh rate makes the response rate and ability to tackle multiple task on this device be on another level.

The Tecno Camon 18P comes with a 5000mAh battery to keep you going all day long. This is a lithium based ion battery, charged by the 33W fast charger that comes with the smartphone. On my testing of the charging speed, I was able to charge the smartphone to 100% under an hour.
