Cooperative Paybill Using MySafaricom Application

This is also a great option for sending money to your bank account. Its only disadvantage is that it can only be accessed by those who own smartphones, which is not everyone in Kenya. Even if that is an issue, there are various ways you can get a smartphone, even on credit.

As mentioned, you will, first of all, need to download and install the MySafaricom application via your phone’s app store – Google Playstore for android users, and Apple store for iPhone users.

Having completed the installation process, use the following steps to send money to a cooperative bank account using their Paybill number;

  1. Open the MySafaricom application.
  2. Select the Mpesa section to be taken to the Mpesa section of the app.
  3. Choose the Lipa na Mpesa option.
  4. Enter the required details, which are the cooperative bank Paybill number(400200), and the account number, which will be the Account number of the cooperative bank account you want to deposit cash.
  5. Enter your Mpesa PIN, which should be your secrete. Don’t share it with anyone else to avoid losing your hard-earned cash.
  6. Ensure you entered the correct details and confirm to proceed.
  7. You will receive a message from Mpesa and the cooperative bank confirming that your transaction was successful.

If you used any of the methods above and the transaction was not successful, the following might be the problem;

  1. You may have entered an incorrect Mpesa PIN. You will confirm that this is the issue when you receive a message from Mpesa telling you that you have entered an incorrect PIN.
  2. Check and see if you entered an incorrect cooperative bank paybill number. The correct Paybill number for the cooperative bank is 400200.
  3. You may have insufficient funds in your Mpesa account to send to the bank account number. If this is the case, you will receive a message from Mpesa notifying you that your account balance is insufficient. Ensure that you top up your Mpesa account, or enrol for Fuliza Service so that you can receive an extra boost.
