You asked for it and I have finally delivered, with the much-awaited review of the Tecno Camon 17 review. The Tecno Camon 17 smart[home is part of the Tecno Camon Series of phones released by Tecno. In this article, I will be giving you a full review of the Camon 17 and whether I think it’s worth buying or not. I will also tell you a cool feature that makes the Tecno Camon 17 cooler than even the Samsung A10s.

What You Find In The Box
When you buy a brand new Tecno Camon 17, and get to enjoy the joy of unboxing it, you will find the following inside the box;
- The Tecno Camon 17 smartphone. The colour of your smartphone will depend on which colour you chose when buying the phone. Tecno Camon 17 Premier comes only in three awesome colours: Frost Sliver, Deep Sea, Tranquil Green.
- A warranty card from Tecno
- A sim ejector tool
- Earphones
- USB data cable
- A 18w fast charger
- A plastic back cover
External Feature
When you take the Camon 17 smartphone out of its casing, you will see the sleek phone, which to say the truth, Tecno did a good job designing and making it stand out. It has a plastic finish whose body build, impressed me by the fact that it doesn’t attract fingerprint marks(I hate having to clean fingerprint marks off my phone)
At the bottom, you will find the 3.5mm Earphone and audio Jack, mono Speakers and a mic. You will also be able to find the other mic which is located on the top part of the phone.
When you look on the right side of the phone, you find the power button and the volume down and volume up buttons respectively. On the other opposite side, you will find the Premier’s Simcard tray. The phone accepts dual nano sim cards, meaning you will be able to insert two Nano sim cards. The tray also has space for a Micro SD card you can use to enhance your phone’s storage.

Taking a Look At The Back.
On the back, you will immediately notice the 3 cameras and an LED flashlight mounted on the Tecno Camon 17’s back. These Cameras are:
- The main camera, which is 48 Megapixels
- A 2MP depth camera.
- And a QVGA Camera. I will tell you more about this in the Camera section.
Taking a Look At The Front.
At the front, you will find a 32 Megapixel camera to help you take great selfie photos for future memories. There is also dual LED flashlights that are located alongside this front-facing camera. The display size is 6.7 inches and has a resolution of 1080 by 2400.

Display
The Tecno Camon 17 comes with a 6.55 Inch IPS LCD panel display that has a resolution of 720 by 1600 Pixels. The screen refresh rate is 90Hz makes scrolling on this Tecno device smooth and fun. Even though this is not bad at all, I ask you to look at its newer brother, the Tecno Camon 18 Pro. I bet you will be more impressed.

Camera
At the front, you get the 8MP front facing camera, which I didn’t like, so you should to expect to get very good selfie photos using the smartphone. It also has an AR 3.5 mode that you can use to change voice and ad some animated faces on your pictures.
The camera camera is a Triple camera are the 48MP camera to give you very clear photos(Impressive), giving good photos even in night mode and the same for autoshots, with the ability of shooting videos even at 2K. The is also a 2MP f/2.4 depth camera and a QVA camera.
Storage and Memory
RAM Memory
If you want a phone that is able to multitask without any problems, then Tecno Camon 18 Premier is the best bet for you. This Tecno company Smartphone comes in two variants, one with with 4Gb of RAM and another with 6GB RAM. This memory will enable you to play demanding games like Call of Duty and Pubg on good graphics quality and high refresh rates.
ROM Memory
Both variants of the smartphone come with 256GB storage, which is more than enough for you to store all your photos, videos and audio files without being worried about storage. You can also increase the storage space by adding a Micro SD card.
Processor
This smartphone comes packed with a MediaTek Helio G-85, which is a 12 nm chipset processor that will be able to deliver enough power for gaming and doing various tasks on the smartphone. This processor is fast, especially in combination with the phone’s refresh rate of 90 Hz.
Battery
The Tecno Camon 17 Premier comes with a 5000mAh non-removable battery to keep you going all day long. With the 18W charger that comes with it, you can be sure to receive a fast charging capability. When I charged it during the review, the the Tecno Camon charges from 0% to 100% within 2 hours of uninterrupted charging.
Other Features Of Tecno Camon 17
Other features I have not mentioned about about the Camon 17 include;
- Supports 4G connectivity.
- Has Bluetooth, WLAN and GPS support.
- Has a fingerprint sensor on the back
- Is very light weight(164.5 x 76.5 x 9 mm (6.48 x 3.01 x 0.35 in)
Tecno Camon 17 Price Range in Kenya
In Kenya, you can buy the Tecno Camon 17 premier for around 18,000/=. It can be bought from any online store in Kenya or a smartphone shop in major Kenyan towns. I recommend you buy this smartphone from Jumia Kenya, because of their 6-month warranty on electronics and smartphones. Plus Jumia is also a Tecno-trusted seller, so you can be sure that you will be getting what you asked for. And as a plus, I just want you to know that this smartphone supports Voice over LTE, which is really cool.
Although, you might need to also consider going to a smartphone shop around you in Kenya, because the phone was released a while back, and therefor it is not guaranteed that you will find it on Jumia.
