Believe in yourself

Having an attitude of a winner is a must-have, pick yourself up when you feel like giving up. Medical School is not for the faint-hearted. You will be very occupied with a lot of content that you have to master over a short period. You might feel like giving up at times but don’t. Believe me, everything will become easier if you just believe in yourself.

Have a Timetable

This will help you manage your time well. It also ensures that you don’t prioritise some subjects more than others. Just make sure you follow it to the later. If it’s time for Anatomy, for example, make sure you study anatomy, or you might end up reading some subjects more than others.

Get A Study Partner.

There are a lot of things to learn, and you won’t be able to do it alone. Get a study partner, particularly someone who is more focused and clever. This will help you cover a lot over time, and you will see lots of improvement. You will bear with me, witness, that your friend will find some topics easier to understand, and you will also find different topics easier to understand. Take this opportunity to share. Remember, teaching someone something you know will ensure you never forget that topic.

Make YouTube your friend.

There are a lot of procedures that you have to master. Reading these procedures alone from textbooks won’t be of any great benefit. You need to see and do it. It has been scientifically proven that it is easier to understand something that you see being done practically than it is to do something you read. There is no place to learn like youtube, head over there and make your learning in medical school easy and fun.

Get good sleep.

For your mind to be really focused, you need good sleep. Good sleep does not only refresh your mind but also relaxes your body and helps grow healthy and strong. I know you must read, but if your mind is tired, let it rest. Studies have proven that people who get good sleep have the highest level of concentration and retain what they have learnt.

I know many of you will agree that when you start reading after a good sleep, you notice that you retain information for a longer period of time. I like taking a 30-minute nap in the afternoon during my 2-hour break, and I found it very useful because I understand my afternoon lectures well.
